My name is Rome Reginelli and I'm from San Jose, California. I've wanted to be a writer ever since I read the book Sam the Cat Detective in first grade. My taste for novels hasn't diminished since, but it has been supplemented by a love of anime, video games, and music. I like to try my hand at all kinds of different things, and that has led to my experiments in computer graphics, programming, and composing/sequencing, among other things.
I've worked a number of jobs, from youth soccer referee, to assistant sound tech, Hollywood intern, and technical writer for embedded Linux, social gaming, and now cutting-edge finance tech. My goal in life is to become a published novelist, but that's still a ways off.
I like to listen to a lot of kinds of music, but if you keep an eye on my last.fm profile, you'll see that a lot of my favorite music tends to be stuff from anime and game soundtracks. In particular, I'm obsessed with music by Yuki Kajiura. I also listen to a fair number of Japanese bands, and I've been a fan of OC ReMix, too. My musical taste isn't limited to just that, though - depending on my mood, I tend to like ska, Western rock bands, or even blues and reggae.
I'm a fan of web standards, and I enjoyed all the work and torture of coding this website in PHP, XHTML, and CSS. My favorite browser is Firefox, so the site is optimized to display on it, but should look good on any modern browser. If not, let me know. I also really love the Python programming language and I encourage everyone to try it out, because you can get a feel for what computer programming is like without having to deal with all the nastier lower-level things that have ensured that I don't become a Computer Science major.
I could also use this space to make a bunch of recommendations about good books, anime, games, and other ways to occupy yourselves, but I'll quit while I'm ahead and say that you're better off enjoying whatever you can and finding out for yourself what's good. This is really supposed to be about me and all I've done with it is talk about where I'm from and what I like. I don't think that really gives you a realistic idea of who I am, though. If you really want to know about me, you can probably figure out something from reading my writings. You could also google 'mDuo13' and see what comes up. So far as I can tell, all of those results are either things I've done or mentions people have made of me and my work.
